Kevin Edwards, IFA and Director at Midland Financial Solutions has claimed his Chartered Financial Planner status at a graduation ceremony in London. This industry qualification is recognised as one of the highest that can be achieved and means that Kevin will now be even more able to provide clients with expert advice.
Midland Financial Solutions as a company has also been awarded ‘Chartered Financial Planners’ status, the first in Derby! This demonstrates their ongoing commitment to ensuring its customers are provided with the highest level of comprehensive independent financial advice.
Kevin said: “I achieved the qualification itself almost a year ago; however, it has been rewarding attending the graduation ceremony. It recognises many years of hard work that I fitted in around starting a new business and family commitments. It’s a good feeling knowing that this is one of the highest accolades a financial adviser can receive.”
The qualification is awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and is deemed to be equivalent to a ‘first’ degree. An individual will have passed around 10 to 12 exams to obtain sufficient ‘credits’ to be awarded this status.
Chartered Financial Planners must also have at least five years’ relevant industry experience and at least three years’ of suitable Continuous Professional Development (CPD). In addition the adviser must take an Oath and agree to follow the CII’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.
