Midland Financial Solutions has issued a warning to the press that it appears to have been targeted by unscrupulous Internet scammers.
We put a press release out after being made aware that the name of our firm – and our director Kevin Edwards – have found themselves victims of dodgy sites which claim to offer articles published by Kevin in exchange for either credit card details or an email address.
Kevin’s name has been featured regularly in the media since 2011, with articles in a wide range of newspapers and journals including The Times, The Guardian, The Financial Times, Moneywise, The Sunday Express and the Money Observer.
But this raised profile may have attracted fraudsters and Midland Financial Solutions has discovered that all kinds of questionable sites often crop up when Kevin’s name is typed into a search engine.
Kevin says: “I want everyone to know that if you want advice from Midland Financial Solutions, the best place to get it is at Midland Financial Solutions.
“We do not charge for accessing information or advice articles, and we don’t provide information or advice to companies that do. “You will find our name on respected industry sites such as www.unbiased.co.uk where people can look to find a local Independent Financial Adviser.
“If you’re being asked to pay for articles I have written – excluding such websites as The Times which are subscription only – you shouldn’t.”
